I walk the beach at Lacey’s next door to
the mouth of Currumbin Creek each day and I love to watch the surfers catching
their waves. Alongside Currumbin Creek,
Lacey’s is a popular spot for serious surfers.
Painted in oil with cold wax medium on a
cradled board. This is another piece in my Smaller Art Collection. I create
these small pieces for those homeowners who do not have wall space for large
pieces of art. I believe everyone should
live with art, I hope these small pieces enable them to live with art in their
‘Black Crows’ is an
intriguing image painted in a modern style. Yellow, black and purple.
Painted in a
contemporary manner, I was inspired to paint this piece after hearing the crows
that are always calling each other in our neighborhood,
It is a little menacing, but intriguing. I have used many layers of black yellows and ochres with hints of purple to represent the depths of the trees in the bush they reside in. The crows rule the bush and protect their territory against intruders.
I was cleaning out my sewing cabinet and found all my old
paper dress patterns. I thought I might
try and include some of the lovely paper patterns in a piece of art.
A very large abstract painting painted in many layers to create texture and depth. All the colours from the under layers show through to provide interesting character.
I have sewn many dresses over the years and it is always
exciting to make a new dress. This piece shows the wearer showing off her new
evening dress. I have used the paper pattern to create the dress, it has many
folds and crevices – lots of texture and the end result looks like a gorgeous
I never want my pieces to simply be interior décor art but
something individual and full of interest.
Large pastel coloured abstract painted in acrylic on canvas.
This painting was painted in many layers to create texture and depth. All the colours from the under layers show
through to provide interesting character. Your imagination can interpret the
various shapes and contours into flowers, leaves, butterflies, mushrooms, water
Each individual will see something different in this
painting which was my intention, I like to make the viewer work to enjoy the
painting. I don’t want my pieces to
simply be interior décor art but something individual and full of interest.
I hope you can see your botanical garden in this piece.
Gemini is the Mutable Air sign. The Air element is a Thinking Type, mentally driven, communicative, fast-moving.
Gemini’s ‘Mutable’ quality means versatility, being flexible, able to put things together. It also means that the ‘Dual’ sign is double natured, prone to mutate and change rapidly – easily swing between bright vivacious and dark withdrawn; or between clear simple logic and a chaos of unfinished ends. You are most happy when, despite your busy life, your ‘dark twin’ is embraced via periods of solitary creative work and by relationships that encourage your emotional side to emerge. You are the ‘thinker’ of the zodiac, the third sign, your key phrase: “I Connect”.
MERCURY: Planet of the Mind—Your Planetary Ruler
Communication and a variety of life experience is the Air you breathe. In ancient Arabic astrology Gemini is said to be “of hot and humid nature” and “your angel holds the key to the creation of metals”. As a Twin, you are most happy when engaged in stimulating mental activities with a friend close by.
Mercury represents the magic of duality – the complementary pairing of opposites and the flexibility of an open mind. His special message to Gemini is to let your ever curious mind be guided by the light of wisdom.
